Terms & Licence

Last updated: to be set on legal sign-off

⚠️ Placeholder — not yet legally reviewed.

The clauses below describe the intended terms in plain language, but the binding EULA / terms of sale must be drafted or reviewed by a solicitor before launch. The seller is Garelochsoft Ltd (a UK company — exact registered details to be confirmed with an accountant once formed). Do not treat the wording below as final.

1. Licence grant

My Financial Life is published by Garelochsoft Ltd and is licensed, not sold. Your purchase grants a one-time, perpetual licence to use the app on your own computers. A 1.x licence continues to work on every 1.x release. A future major version (2.0) is a separate, optional paid upgrade; your existing version keeps working regardless.

2. Free trial

The app offers a 30-day, full-feature trial, enforced within the app. After the trial a gentle reminder appears until a licence key is entered. [Final trial terms to be confirmed.]

3. Licence key

After purchase you receive an offline, signed licence key by email, which you enter in the app under Help ▸ Enter License. Keep it safe; you can retrieve it via the purchase partner or by contacting hello@garelochsoft.com.

4. Not financial advice

My Financial Life is a tool for recording and viewing your own finances. It does not provide financial, investment, tax, or legal advice, and nothing it displays should be relied on as such. Decisions you make using it are your own.

5. Disclaimers & liability

[To be drafted.] The software is provided “as is”; warranty disclaimers and a limitation of liability, drafted to the relevant consumer-protection law, go here. This does not affect your statutory rights.

6. Refund policy

[To be drafted.] Because a full 30-day free trial is available before purchase, we encourage trying before buying. The exact refund terms (and how the Merchant-of-Record partner handles them) will be stated here.

7. Payments & taxes

Purchases are processed by a Merchant-of-Record partner who is the seller of record and handles applicable VAT / sales tax. Their terms apply to the transaction and will be linked here.

8. Governing law

[To be confirmed.] Expected to be the relevant UK jurisdiction in which Garelochsoft Ltd is registered (the law of Scotland, or England & Wales) — to be finalised at company formation and legal review.
